COLUMBIA RIVER/AIRPORT WAY January 1, thru December 31, 2007
START: Dawn FINISH by : Dusk COLUMBIA RIVER : Sanction #76288, YRE 0846 10 K Walk Rated 1+. You will walk 3 K along the beautiful Columbia River and 2 K of the walk follows a waterway that is part of Portland’s 40 mile loop trail. There is an abundant supply of water fowl. The trail is on bike paths, sidewalks and natural trails. Strollers would be okay but not wheelchairs. Leashed pets are okay but not at start point. All pets must obey scoop laws. There are restrooms at start & finish. WOC: Lewis & Clark and Clubs, Multnomah Co; National Challenge: River Walk GROTTO/ROSE CITY WALK: Sanction #76477, YRE 1640 10 km Rated 2 The Grotto (National Sanctuary of our Sorrowful Mother) is a religious sanctuary and botanical garden. Admission is free and 1 K of the walk is in the lower level of the Grotto. It features flowers lined pathways, towering firs, running streams, & marble and wood shrines. The upper level of the Grotto has beautiful manicured gardens and offers magnificent views of the Cascade Mountains. The upper level is NOT always open to the public so is optional and not included in the 10 K. Access to the upper level is by elevator ONLY with a $2.50 fee. The rest of the walk is on sidewalks and streets in the Rose City area. FOR THIS WALK YOU WILL REGISTER AT MCDONALDS AND THEN DRIVE 4 MILES TO THE GROTTO. Strollers and wheelchairs okay. Pets are not allowed in the Grotto. WOC: flowers and clubs, Multnomah Co.

From I-205 northbound take exit 24B, southbound on I-205 take
exit 24 to NE Airport Way. Go east on Airport Way to the McDonalds which is on
the right. Start point is in walking distance from many airport area hotels.
