Then along the "804 trail" that follows the coast and provides fantastic views of the Pacific ocean. Take the option up behind the town to a magnificent viewpoint way above the town. ( the option is rated 4)

  •  Waldport Bayshore walk: rated 1+ Walk through the Bayshore area of Waldport. Stroll along a sandy beach or look for treasures that the ocean deposits here.

  •  Gwynn Creek:  Rated 4 10 Km. This walk is a classic. It takes you past some of the largest old growth left in the State, along a creek and up to the ridge high above Gwynn Creek. You will then walk down to the Cape Perpetua Visitors Center and along the Oregon Coast Trail with striking views of the crashing surf at Cooks Chasm. Then back to your car at the State Park right beside the Ocean.

  •  Berry Creek Trail: Rated 3, 10Km. This is an all new walk that starts at the Horse Camp on Cape Mountain So. of Yachats. It takes you to a viewpoint overlooking the ocean and then down and along Berry creek, through the forest and then up to the old fire lookout atop Cape Mountain. Back along another forest Trail, past an old Indian "hitsi", a log shelter, and back to your car. Elk are plentiful in the area and they are frequently sighted here.
