About Us
The Columbia River Volkssport Club is a non-profit walking club. We sponsor, organize and participate in non-competitive walking events under the umbrella of our national organization, the American Volkssport Association (AVA). Our walks are usually 6 miles in length and may be started and finished during a 3 to 4 hour time frame. Participants walk alone, with a friend, or in groups. There is no charge to participate, however, if one wants to enroll in our international incentive awards program, there is a minimal charge per walk. Awards are given at specific levels for distance walked and for number of events walked. As you reach higher levels, the wards become more elaborate. Some participants walk just for the health of it and don't participate in the awards program. You will find our club members enjoying the social aspects of walking. Often we stop for lunch after a walk or hose events at a brewpub where participants gather after the event. Walking with the Columbia River Volkssport Club is a healthy way of meeting new friends.
